The 48th Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s tribute to the American director, photographer, graphic designer and painter William Klein includes a photography exhibition, organized by the TIFF and the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art.
Political, unorthodox and ground-breaking, Klein, through his films and photographs casts his glance upon current events and social issues: the Vietnam War, rock and roll, the student demonstrations of 1968, racism, reality shows, popular sports, the media, and religion. Having lived most of his life in Paris and having exhibited his work throughout the world, he continues today to shift his focus from film to photography, and only recently has he received the acclaim he was due from his country of origin, the US.
