Biography
Raised in Thessaloniki, he began making movies at an early age.At fourteen, seven years after his family moved to Colombia, he earned his first award for the fiction video short Dimension, which was broadcast nationwide. At eighteen, he served in the Greek Army. This experience shaped his vision and influenced another short film, Nekropolis. By the age of twenty-three, he had edited the feature film Habitos Sucios for renowned Colombian director Carlos Palau.Now, at twenty-nine, after moving to Los Angeles to finish a formal education in Filmmaking and establishing his own production company, Kosmokrator Sinema, he has completed his first feature film entitled PVC-1. The film was screened at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes IFF 2007.

PVC-1 / Spiros Stathoulopoulos |  Shot in one continuous take, PVC-1 is inspired by the true story of an innocent woman’s struggle for survival after she is fitted with a collar-bomb. In Colombia, a woman and her family became the victim of an unusual act of terrorism. Unable to pay a ransom, the mother is turned into a human time bomb and is now trapped in a physical and mental situation from which she and her family try to break free.
