||The 53rd edition of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival is travelling through its Regional Events, bringing audiences across Greece in contact with innovative artists and films.
From November 12 to December 20, thirty-one Greek cities and islands - Alexandroupoli, Amorgos, Andros, Velvendo, Veria, Volos, Itea, Ioannina, Kavala, Karditsa, Kastoria, Kilkis, Kozani, Kos, Lamia, Livadia, Naxos, Nea Makri, Xanthi, Patra, Pefki, Preveza, Rethymno, Samothraki, Samos, Santorini, Serres, Florina, Hania, Neapoli Lassithiou, Chios- will host a selection of movies from TIFF’s program.
This year, the Festival has added new destinations to its travel, in an effort to embrace places where images and messages are hard to reach, such as State Penitentiaries and Youth Detention Centers.
The dates and venues of this year’s regional events will be announced soon.
The screenings of the Regional Events are supported by local municipal authorities, film clubs and the host cities’ cultural institutions.
The Regional Events are among the events of the 53rd TIFF funded by the European Union, European Regional Development Fund, in the framework of the Central Macedonia Regional Operational Program 2007-2013.
