Landscape in the Mist / Theo Angelopoulos

Voula and Alexander are two siblings in search of their father. The children set out on a trip to Germany, where they believe their father is living as an immigrant worker. But their journey is constantly thwarted. Their destination seems more and more elusive as the children become involved in an unending clash with reality that delays their progress at various in-between stops along the way. After a harsh peregrination through life and into adulthood, they will finally reach that frontier beyond which they believe they will find their father and, more importantly, hope.
