Ciné John Cassavetes, Sunday 3/11, 12:45
On the occasion of the screening of the documentary Stop-over, a discussion will be held on the reasons that render Greece a“migration trap”and a dead end for refugees or immigrants that wish to move on to other countries in Europe. The documentary focuses on the problems of everyday life and the labyrinthine bureaucratic procedures that considerably hinder these people’s stay in Greece or their transition to other European countries. This often results in desperate and invariably dangerous attempts to leave the country clandestinely. Sitting on the panel will be the director of Stop-over, Kaveh Bakhtiari; Andreas Takis, Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Methodology of Law at Thessaloniki’s Aristotle University; and Konstantinos Tsitselikis, Associate Professor at the Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies of the University of Macedonia. Panel coordination: Elena Christopoulou.
