From Afar / Lorenzo Vigas

The leading character of Lorenzo Vigas’s film lures young men to his apartment and asks them to allow him to look at them without touching, in exchange for money. From afar. The film, unfolding like a psychological thriller, explores the behaviors of its complicated characters. Psychological or social distance – and the possibility of its painfully violent annihilation at any moment – lies at the core of a film that is built without simplifying its characters or manipulating its audience, addressing every possible facet of human behavior.
