​He was born in 1948. He graduated from the Art Faculty of Eötvös Lóránt University of Sciences in 1971 and shot his first short film Nightmare in 1977. For the last three decades, he has been working as a film director, a theater director and playwright. His films were screened in numerous international film festivals and won many awards, including the Silver Hugo at the Chicago IFF (in 1985 and 1987), the Béla Balázs Award in Budapest (1989), the Golden Pyramid at the Cairo IFF (2002), and the Special Jury Award at the Ourense IFF (2009).

Fever at Dawn / Peter Gardos

The story of a love born in the strangest of circumstances between two long-suffering survivors of the hell that was the Holocaust. Their love overcomes all obstacles in its path, including death – when it eventually comes. Set in the Swedish rehabilitation camps during the autumn and winter of 1945.
