La tierra roja / Diego Martinez Vignatti

In Misiones, Pierre is mandated by a multinational to manage forest cuts and pine plantations. As a Rugby amateur, he also leads the young local team “Los Carpinchos.” In his profession, Pierre has no qualms; he cuts, burns and pours toxic agrochemicals into the fertile soil to improve his productivity like everybody else. In Misiones, they‘ve lost count of the babies born with malformations, cancers and the mentally retarded children that come from the use of those agrochemicals. A protest movement spreads among the people. Pierre is faced with desertions among his own workers. Pierre is also in love with Ana, a young activist teacher who takes up the cause of the population. Cornered, Pierre will have to choose sides.
