“Green Dialogues ΙΙ”


With an aim at achieving the direct sensitization of society to issues of the environment and ecology, and a desire to set an example in initiating ecological action, the 50th anniversary edition of the Thessaloniki International FilmFestival continues and intensifies its “green” dialogue with its audience by carrying out a series of actions of environmental content.

Following the actions entitled“Green Dialogues” began during the Festival’s 49th edition, this year’s“Green Dialogues”, whichwill take place at the Festival’s venues aswell as in the city of Thessaloniki, constitute a dynamic part of the Festival which, with its motto “Why cinema now?” wishes to provoke dialogue, communication and interaction.

The actions that will take place within the context of the 50th Thessaloniki International Film Festival are:

• “On the way to Copenhagen”: An open discussion in collaboration with the Danish Embassy and the support of SKAI, theWWF and Greenpeace.
• Screening of the ecological films The Age of Stupid & The Cove. 
• The screening of ecological spots in the theaters and on FFTV, the Festival’s TV magazine.

• Recycling the old banners and making them into collectible bags for the 50th edition.
• An ecological work of art designed by the Exhibition segment of the Festival and made by the Festival’s guests. 
• The recycling of materials produced during the Festival. 
• A Green Dialogue map with suggested walks through the Festival venues and the city of Thessaloniki.
